How Cicero handles the information a student and their parent share with it.
What we collect
We collect the email you sign in with, the name you choose to give us, the age you tell us, the SAT score you report, and your conversations and practice answers with the tutor.
How we use it
We use it to run the tutor — to pick questions at your level and remember your progress — to bill you, and to find and fix problems.
Who we share it with
Companies that process data for us: Supabase (accounts and storage), Anthropic (the AI model that reads your messages in order to answer them), LemonSqueezy (payments — we never see card numbers), Vercel (hosting), Google Fonts (the typefaces your browser loads to display the page), Sentry (error reports, with personal data stripped), Upstash (abuse limits) and Plausible (privacy-friendly analytics, no cookies). Google and Apple, if you sign in with them.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use student data for advertising.
If you report a problem from inside Cicero, we send your recent messages to our own team so we can look into it.
Students under 18
Cicero is for students 13 and older. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13 we block it, and we delete its data when asked.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account we delete it, apart from payment records we have to keep for tax and accounting.
Your choices
A student, or a parent or guardian, can ask us to show or delete the student's data by emailing support@brightsmith.app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we post the new version here with a new effective date.
